Sensei Ken Fanner,
3rd Dan

Sensei Ken Fanner has 20 years of experience and training in various martial arts. He started training under Sensei Glen Hall in 1981 in Shotokan Karate. He has also trained under such JKA instructors as Kawazoe Sensei and Yahara Sensei (Shotokan). He has also trained in other disciplines with such great martial artists as Phil Norman, (the late, great) Colin Sheridan, Rick Young of the British Jeet Kune Do movement. Sensei Fanner has also attended various courses run by Dan Inosanto (JKD), Bob Breen (JKD). 


 
Sensei Ken Fanner is also a fully qualified fitness instructor, as well as in first Aid. He is currently insuring that all grades above brown belt (3rd Kyu) are trained in modern aspects of training along with the traditional ways and values.

Claire Fowler,
2nd Dan

Claire Fowler, 2nd Dan, is dojo captain of Chinte JKA Southampton and is one of the clubs top students. Claire’s journey in karate started in 1994 with SEKU (South of England Karate Union) and then joined the SSKA (Southern Shotokan Karate Association), it was here that Claire met Sensei Fanner. Claire’s flexibility and kicking has gained the respect of all her fellow Karate-ka in the dojo, her smoothness of technique is just pure and simply the best in the club.Under Sensei Fanner’s guidance Claire has won many kumite and kata competitions such as:
